Would you like input on Oglethorpe County Schools?! Just a reminder that our Community Listening Session will be held on Monday, March 10th at 6:30 pm. It will be held in the cafeteria at OCHS.
We value your feedback. ALL parents, staff, grandparents, community members, and middle and high school students are encouraged to come and share what is going well and areas we need to grow.
These community listening sessions, which are held every two years, have brought about many changes due to input we have received from those participating. Some of the changes over the years have included:
*Improving our communication both internally and externally
*Providing facility upgrades, including lights on the softball and baseball fields as well as a new track
*Launching our ASPIRE afterschool program
*Providing dual enrollment opportunities on our high school campus
*Improving campus safety, including the hiring of SROs
Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this important event on Monday, March 10th. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD as we plan for the future of Oglethorpe County Schools!

Congratulations to these awesome students who were selected by their teachers for the Patriot Pride luncheon for the month of February for being examples of well rounded students in & out of the classroom.

Reminder to 8th Grade Parents,
Rising 9th Grade Parent Night is Thursday night at OCHS at 6:00 in the OCHS cafeteria. At this event, parents will get information needed to help your child decide on pathway courses and preparing for life as an OCHS student. This is for parents AND students.

Ms. Denney's, Mrs. Ballew's, and Ms. Kirk’s class would like to thank everyone who participated in our Candy Gram Fundraiser to help support their Community Based Instructional trips. It also allowed real world experiences with counting money, working on social and communication skills, and an opportunity to work on social studies standards by analyzing different economic systems by comparing how traditional, command, and market economies answer the economic questions of what to produce, how to produce, and for whom to produce.

You’re invited to join the Cook Center Wednesday, February 19th at 8 pm for Ask a Therapist Live. This webinar is an opportunity to ask a licensed clinical therapist questions about parenting, your child’s well-being, or anything that’s been on your mind. Participation is anonymous and free.

OCES: Jaxon Austin
OCMS: Bessie Kate Musimbi
OCHS: Kaitlyn Watkins

Great job to Ms. Serrian & her 7th/8th Grade Band, her Jazz Band, & the small ensembles that played tonight at OCMS. The concert served as a chance to practice their Large Group Performance Evaluation pieces to be performed in two weeks in front of judges. They sound superior already!

6th graders in Mr. Adams social studies classes learned about Latin America nations and then shared what they learned to their classmates about the food, culture, history, and other interesting facts by “speed learning.”

Our OCMS 8th graders were welcomed at OCHS to a great morning of tours at the high school. They got to see all of the CTAE labs, learn about their pathway choices at the high school for next year, and meet the OCHS Administration and Guidance Counselors. They did a fantastic job making a good first impression and the high schoolers that served as tour guides did a phenomenal job of showing them around! Watching them grow and transition into the high school life is always exciting.

Mrs. Byce's 7th graders enjoyed the beautiful day with a lesson outside. They have been studying similar figures and used indirect measurement to find the height of certain objects.
